During wednesday afternoon ER24 Paramedics responded to, Princes avenue in Benoni CBD, for a Pedestrian Vehicle Collision.
On arrival paramedics found a male in his forties lying face down in the road and were advised by bystanders that he had been struck by a bakkie whilst crossing the road.
Paramedics immediately assessed the man and found that he had suffered a suspected head injury along with multiple abrasions across his body.
Advanced Life Support intervention was needed and the man was transported to Tambo Memorial Hospital by ER24.
The occupants of the bakkie were left uninjured.
Local authorities were on scene and the details surrounding the cause of the collision remain to be investigated.
