A nine-year –old girl is fighting for her life in a Gauteng hospital after a drowning incident at a Nature park near Muldersdrift this afternoon at around 13h21. Reports from the scene indicate that the child went into the water to try and save a friend when she got into difficulty.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the teachers to be doing resuscitation on the unresponsive child. Advanced life support paramedics placed the child on a ventilator and managed to get her heart to start beating. After the patient was stabilised and skillfully immobilized, they airlifted her to a hospital for the specialized care that she required.
