Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on Old Pretoria Road in Midrand this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a motorcycle and motor vehicle had collided resulting in the young motorcyclist sustaining critical injuries. The occupants of the motor vehicle were uninjured during the accident.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured man to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
