Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a pedestrian accident on Dr Belcher Road in Bloemfontein last night.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a woman, believed to be in her fifties, in a critical condition after she was knocked over by a minibus.
The critically injured woman was treated while being rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care she required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events are unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
