A fourteen – year –old boy tragically drowned in the Umgababa lagoon Near Amanzimtoti this afternoon. Reports indicate that the child and his friends were swimming in the river when he disappeared under the water.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the S A P S search and rescue divers arrived at the scene and found a crowd that pointed out where the boy disappeared. Divers immediately entered that water and started a search and after a few minutes surfaced with the body. Tragically the child was declared dead on scene.
