Five people were injured, three critically so, after two bakkies collided head-on along Seadoone Road in Amanzimtoti this morning at around 09h45. Details to the cause of the accident are still speculative and will remain a subject for police comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the emergency services arrived at the scene and found the roadway severely obstructed with the twisted remains of the vehicles, some of the occupants were still trapped in the twisted metal.
After the injured were stabilized on scene and deftly immobilized on trauma boards, they were transported to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
