A five –year-old-girl is in a serious but stable condition after a near drowning incident in Croftdene, Chatsworth this afternoon at around 14h00. Reports indicate that the life guards pulled the child from the water and immediately started rescue breathing on her.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the child had regained spontaneous breathing and was in a serious but stable condition with near drowning symptoms. Paramedics stabilized the child on scene before they transported her to a nearby hospital for the care that she required.
