A motorcyclist was found by ER24 paramedics after he was struck by lightning between Kroonstad and Welkom this morning.
On their way to meet with other crew, they noticed the man standing next to the road and that something was out of place.
They then stopped to offer some assistance when the 34 year old man told them he had been struck while riding on his motorcycle.
He suffered some burn wounds and other injuries and was taken to Mediclinic Welkom for further treatment.
