Crisis Medical, a Durban based emergency services provider have announced they are to launch a Workers Relief Fund with immediate effect for those workers killed and injured in Tuesday’s building collapse in Tongaat.
Crisis Medical Paramedics were among the first to arrive on scene to stabilise and transport those injured in the collapse to hospital. Our Operations Director, Neil Powell fed the story to many international media organisations around the world giving updates on the unfolding incident.
The fund will be administered by Roger Knowels Attorneys and all money will be held in the trust account to ensure accountability and transparency.
The relief fund will work to assist those injured with medical bills and helping them to start their lives again after this tragedy. Mr. Knowels has decided to waiver his fee to manage the fund which means every cent will go to the beneficiaries.
We ask businesses and individuals to give generously to ensure that this fund is able to help as many workers and their families as possible. The fund will be open to donation until 30 December 2013 whereby those affected will then be paid out.
