Another tragedy has taken place this morning; this time, a 1 year old baby girl has been killed after her aunt who was carrying her, was knocked down by a vehicle in Witpoortjie.
Paramedics responded to the scene of the crash where a VW Polo had collided into the woman who was carrying the child while she appeared to have been trying to cross Corlett drive at the Java street crossing. Sadly the little girl had already died due to the nature of her injuries prior to the arrival of paramedics and no more could be done to save her life.
Paramedics declared the child dead on scene. The child’s aunt suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance through to a nearby hospital for further assessment and care.
The occupant of the vehicle suffered no physical injuries.
