A man in his thirties is fighting for his life in a Gauteng hospital after he was struck by a taxi on the R82 in Vereeniging at around 21h10. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man to have sustained life threatening injuries. After he was placed on a ventilator and deftly immobilized on a trauma board they air lifted the patient to a provincial hospital for the care that he required.
