We would like to share an email sent to the Arrive Alive Road Safety Website:
“Good day. I would like to make a suggestion that all vehicles on SA roads are required to have their head lights on at all times, i.e. including day time, as is the case for motorcycles. The reasoning behind this law being enforced for motorcycles is to make them more visible, so why not amend this law to include all other vehicles on the roads as well? (In many European countries this is law).
The other advantage of this is that traffic law enforcement officers will be able to check and ensure vehicle lights are in working order, even during day time, and take actions to prevent non-conforming vehicles to be driven without lights at night.”
