Boy 17 suffers near drowning in Durban

A seventeen year old is in a serious but stable condition with near drowning symptoms after he was swept out to sea on the Durban South beach this morning. Reports indicate that the life guards swam out to rescue the man after he and some of his friends were caught in a current.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man on the beach with near drowning symptoms after he had taken in a lot of sea water. After he was stabilised at the scene they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
