Truck fire on the N2 between Kokstad and Mount Ayliff
At around midnight last night paramedics From KZN Emergency Medical Services at the Kokstad base responded to a truck which was on fire on the N2 between Kokstad and Mount Ayliff.
The preceding events and the circumstances resulting in the truck catching in fire were a mystery to the paramedics when they arrived on the scene which was in the border area of KZN and the Eastern Cape.
There paramedics treated one patient, who had been pulled out of the truck by community members before they arrived, for critical injuries and transported this patient to EG Usher memorial hospital in Kokstad for continued care. Tragically there was a second person who had died and was declared dead by the paramedics.
The scene was handed over to the police who are investigating the case.
