A fire broke out at a school on Corlett Drive in Sandton earlier today.
ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, responded to the school where a fire had broken out in a storeroom on the school’s premises.
Prior to emergency services’ arrival, a teacher had smelled the smoke from the fire and begun evacuating the learners to a place of safety.
Fire fighters managed to extinguish the fire before it got out of control. Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.
It was alleged that the fire broke out of the kiln, an insulated oven used for hardening objects.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate the incident.
