KZN EMS respond to motor vehicle collision on the R61

Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services have responded to an collision involving a mini bus and car on the R61, near Shelly Beach on the KZN South Coast.

The collision, which occurred at about 12h30 saw paramedics from KZN EMS and several private ambulances responding to the incident. 14 patients were injured in the collision, when the mini bus which was apparently travelling from the Eastern Cape to Durban, overturned after there was a collision between the mini bus and a car. The patients, who sustained serious and minor injuries, were first stabilized on scene before being transported to Murchison hospital and Gamalakhe Community Health Centre for continued care.

The cause and events leading up to the accident are being investigated by the police
