Fifteen people were injured after a taxi overturned on the R617 near Mpophemeni informal settlement in the natal Midlands this afternoon at around 15h07. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the taxi had overturned and rolled down the roadway, some of the occupants being ejected along the way. After triaging it was found that six people were seriously injured while nine others escaped with minor injuries.
After the patients were stabilised at the scene paramedics transported them to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
