A critically injured teenager was airlifted from Christiaan de Wet Road in Roodepoort, Johannesburg West this morning.
The unconscious boy was discovered to have sustained severe head injuries after a light motor vehicle hit him.
ER24 paramedics attended to the patient on the main road while a helicopter landed on scene. He was thereafter airlifted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The exact circumstances leading to the collision are under investigation.
