Seventeen people have sustained various injuries after a taxi and a car collided on Monday morning at the junction of Stanger St and Argyle Road in Durban.
Rescue Care Paramedics and SAPS Search and Rescue units arrived on scene to find patients strewn across the roadway. Paramedics immediately called for more resources due to the number of casualties that had been injured. After a quick count it was found that seventeen people had been injured with two sustaining moderate injuries. Once all of the injured had been stabilized on scene they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however the SAPS Accident Unit was in attendance and will be investigating further.
Stanger Street was closed Durban bound at Argyle Road to allow emergency vehicles to treat the injured commuters.
