A man in his 40s is in a critical condition after being hit by a car yesterday evening under the Walter Sisulu bridge in Bloemfontein.
ER24 arrived on scene and found the man lying on the pavement. A motorist had stopped to offer the man assistance.
Assessment showed that the pedestrian sustained severe injuries, including fractures to his legs, arms and head.
Advanced life support was performed before the patient was transported by ambulance to Pelonomi Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not known and local authorities were on scene for further investigations
