Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to a diving accident at the Umkomaas Beach in Umkomaas at around 11h45 this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a man and woman, believed to be in their fifties, tragically lost their lives following the incident. Despite all efforts to resuscitate both patients there was nothing else paramedics could do for them.
Exact detail to the cause of the incident and preceding events are unknown at this stage and will remain the subject of an investigation.
