Netcare 911 paramedics, its rescue unit and other services responded to an accident on Road 701 in Chatsworth around 23h00 last night.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a man and woman in a critical condition after a vehicle left the roadway and crashed through a wall.
Netcare 911’s Rescue Unit had to make use of the Jaws of Life to extricate the entrapped man from the vehicle.
Both patients were treated on scene before they were rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care that they required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
