Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Dr Belcher Road in Bloemfontein this evening.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that four vehicles were involved in a collision resulting in nine people sustaining injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
The injured patients were treated on scene before they were transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
