Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N1 Ben Schoeman Highway close to the N14 in Highveld, Centurion this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a light delivery vehicle transporting people on the back rear-ended a bus. Five people sustained serious injuries and three people sustained moderate injuries.
All the injured patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
