Two men were killed, one of whom was burned alive when a bakkie, taxi and truck collided on the R50 in Bapsfontein, Johannesburg East this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene where the taxi and bakkie were well alight. The taxi driver was ejected from his taxi and killed on scene whilst the bakkie driver was burned inside his vehicle.
The deceased men’s passengers and truck driver all sustained no physical injuries but suffered shock from the collision.
They were transported to nearby hospitals for observations.
The collision apparently occurred when the taxi was attempting to overtake the bakkie when it (taxi) collided with the truck head-on.
The collision is under investigation by local authorities.
