A man was left critically injured after his vehicle rear ended a truck which was stationary at a robot close to the N2, Somerset West.
Paramedics arrived on scene and found the car wedged against the rear of the truck. The driver was entrapped inside the vehicle.
ER24 paramedics with the help of Cape Town Fire and the Metro EMS Rescue Team were able to remove the patient from the vehicle using jaws of life equipment.
The patient was treated and thereafter transported to Tygerberg Hospital for further treatment.
It is understood that the driver if the vehicle failed to notice the stationary truck. Local authorities are on scene for further investigation.
