Rescue Care paramedics came across a serious taxi accident whilst en route to hospital with another patient on the N2 South bound after the M7 on Sunday morning just before 6am.
Paramedics en route to hospital came around the corner to find a taxi had collided with a cash and transit vehicle before rolling onto its side. Passengers were still climbing out of the wreckage when paramedics arrived. Immediately more ambulances as well and SAPS and Fire were called to assist. A quick triage was done and a total of twelve people had sustained various injuries with one being seriously injured. Once all of the injured had been stabilized they were transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
