A man has been killed and four others injured this afternoon when a bakkie rolled on the N4 near Nelspruit.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found a bakkie stationed on the side of the road. A large load of white paint that had been on the back of the bakkie had been spilled across the road.
On assessment, paramedics found five people were spread around on scene. One of the men had sustained fatal injuries and was later declared dead on scene. Four other occupants of the vehicle that had been ejected lay around the scene, their injuries ranging from minor to critical.
Paramedics began their treatment of the patients while providing the critically injured patient with advanced life support.
Once treated, all the patients were transported to Rob Ferreira Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
