Three people died and seven others were injured about four kilometres from the Grasmere Plaza on the N1 in Johannesburg in the early hours of this morning.
It is believed the driver of a bakkie, transporting the group, lost control of the vehicle. ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the occupants of a bakkie scattered across the road.
Paramedics treated seven people on scene for minor to moderate injuries and transported to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
The three fatalities suffered injuries ranging from fractures, severe head injuries and a traumatic amputation. Unfortunately their was nothing that paramedics could do for them.
The exact cause of the incident is still unclear. The incident was later handed over to local authorities for investigation.
