A multiple vehicle collision has left two people injured this afternoon at the corner of Stanger Street and Ordinance Road just after 3pm today.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find that two vehicles had collided in the intersection before one vehicle overturned coming to rest on its side against two parked vehicles. Paramedics found the driver still entrapped in the vehicle on its side and requested assistance of Fire Department and SAPS Search and Rescue. Once the vehicle had been stabilized the jaws of life were used to cut the patient free.
Once the patient had been cut free she was carefully extricated and placed on a special spine board before being transported by Rescue Care to a nearby facility. The driver of the second vehicle had also sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby facility.
The cause of the accident is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
