Four people were injured , two seriously so, after a bakkie and two cars collided along the R 61 in Southbroom this afternoon. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and found accident debris and the twisted remains of the vehicles spread over a large area. The mangled remains of the bakkie came to rest on its side against the barriers with one of its wheels torn off and laying some twenty metes away on the roadway.
After triaging the injured medics found that two people had sustained serious injuries while two others escaped with minor injuries. After paramedics stabilised the injured on scene they transported them to a local hospital for the care that they required.
