Three people have tragically lost their lives and two people were injured following an accident on the N4 towards Pretoria after the Solomon Mahlangu offramp in Pretoria this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a minibus and two vehicles were involved. The minibus overturned and came to a standstill on its side. One of the vehicles came to a standstill on top of the other vehicle.
Upon assessment of the occupants they found that three people tragically lost their lives during the accident. One person was found to be in a critical condition and one person sustained serious injuries.
The critically injured patient is still entrapped and services are busy with a rescue operation to extricate the injured patient.
The seriously injured patient was treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unknown at this stage and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Traffic is severely affected as a result of the accident.
