Man’s arm amputated after conveyer belt incident

A 32-year-old man’s arm was amputated today after his arm was caught in a conveyer belt while working in a factory that is known to produce fertilizers and composts in Cato Ridge, KZN.

When ER24 Paramedics arrived on scene they found that the conveyer belt had already amputated the man’s arm. He also sustained severe tissue damage up to his shoulder.

ER24 paramedics transported the critical patient by road to Hillcrest Private Hospital for further treatment; he is in a critical, but stable condition.

The cause of the incident is yet to be determined.
