A man was seriously injured after a steel gate fell on top of him in Silverton this afternoon after 13h00.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found a thirty-four-year-old man lying on the ground. Members of the public removed the gate from of top of the man already.
The seriously injured man was treated on scene, immobilized on a trauma board and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the gate to fall is still unclear at this stage.
