Seven people have been injured after a minibus left the roadway and crashed against a tree on Botha Avenue near Station Road in Lyttleton Manor this morning after 07h00.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the minibus still against the tree, where it came to a standstill, and most of the occupants standing and sitting outside the minibus. The tree is situated right in front of a parking area.
Upon assessment of all the occupants they found that seven people had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious during the crash.
The injured patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
