Ten people were injured following an accident at the intersection of Roets Drive and Hatting Drive in Mabuya Park, Vosloorus this afternoon after 16h00.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that two motor vehicles had collided. After the collision one of the vehicles left the roadway and knocked over four children who were walking on the sidewalk of the road.
Upon assessment it was found that the four children had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
The occupants of the two vehicles were also assessed and it was found that six people had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious from both vehicles.
All the patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact details surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation. Traffic was affected while the patients were treated and recovery of the two vehicles were completed.
