A one year old was killed this morning when a vehicle collided with him in Constantia, Western Cape.
Shortly after 0900 paramedics from ER24 in the area were called to the scene to attend the incident. On the way to the incident a passing vehicle flagged them down. It is understood that the family and a doctor on the scene (family friend) started CPR and rushed the child through to hospital. Paramedics continued with CPR and made their way through to Mediclinic Constantiaberg. Sadly the child later died.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known, however it is understood that the child might have been behind a vehicle when it reversed in a driveway. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident will be investigated.
