One person has been injured after structural collapse on Albert Street in Durban central area yesterday around 2pm.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on scene to find the Durban Fire Department, SAPS Search and Rescue and Metro Police in attendance. On assessing the scene it was found that a wall had collapsed and injured a bystander walking past the store. She was stabilized on scene before being transported by ambulance to a nearby facility for the further care that she required.
The scene was cordoned off by SAPS until it was safe again for bystanders to walk past.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collapse however the necessary authorities will be investigating.
