A woman was killed and three others injured, two critically, this morning after a fire at a residence in Ottery Road in Wynberg in the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found three men lying on the pavement next to the burning house. Paramedics assessed the men and found that two of them had sustained severe burn injuries to most of their bodies. The third man had sustained moderate burn injuries to his back.
Paramedics treated the patients as well as providing them with advanced life support before they were transported to various hospitals including Groote Schuur Hospital, for further treatment.
While Fire Services were busy extinguishing the blaze, paramedics found that a woman had sadly lost her life in the blaze.
The cause of the incident is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
