A nineteen-year-old motorcyclist was injured following a side impact accident, involving a motorcycle and light delivery vehicle, on Trichardts Road in Parkdene Ext 2, Boksburg this morning.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the motorcycle lying on the road way with severe damage to the motorcycle following the impact against the light delivery vehicle.
The motorcyclist was found lying on the roadway and upon assessment, paramedics found that the young man had sustained serious to critical injuries as a result of the accident.
The injured man was treated on scene, placed on a trauma board and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Traffic was slightly affected as a result of the accident.
