A mass collision occurred this afternoon on the N4 about 40 km out of Middelburg, Mpumalanga.
The collision involved two trucks and two light motor vehicles. One of the light motor vehicles allegedly lost control on the wet road, spinning out of control and colliding with a truck in the process. The truck then collided with another car and a second truck swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision with the second light motor vehicle.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found pieces of the vehicles scattered all over the road and one extremely damaged vehicle. Amazingly only one person sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ER24 to Midmed Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the collision remains unknown, all local authorities were on scene to investigate the incident.
