A man sustained a serious fracture after he jumped from a sand bank on the Mtwalumi beach this afternoon. A report indicates that the man tried to jump from a large sand bank when his leg gave way and fractured.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and in a combined effort the man was stabilised and carried through the water and across rocks to get to the ambulance, he was then transported to a local hospital for the care that he required.
