A man sustained moderate injuries this afternoon after the trench he was working in collapsed at a construction site in Hillcrest, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, arrived on scene and found the patient lying on the ground next to the trench. Fellow workers surrounded the man, all of them offering assistance.
On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained serious injuries to his pelvis, legs and head.
Paramedics treated and stabilised the man for his injuries and thereafter transported him Hillcrest Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
It is understood that the patients colleagues had dug the patient out once the trench had collapsed.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
