A woman was injured following an accident on the N4 near the N1 in Scientia, Pretoria last night after 21h00.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a motor vehicle had crashed against a bridge pillar. The vehicle came to a standstill partially obstructing the fast lane.
Upon assessment of the occupant, paramedics found that a woman had sustained serious injuries during the accident.
The injured woman was treated at the scene, placed on a trauma board and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
