A man was seriously injured after a vehicle rear- ended a truck on the N1 in Doringkloof, Centurion this morning. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the injured man still trapped in the mangled wreckage of his vehicle. While firemen used the Jaws of Life to extricate the patient, paramedics worked fervently to stabilise him.
After medics skilfully immobilised the patient on a trauma board, they removed him from the vehicle before transporting him to an area hospital for the care that he required.
