Eighteen people have been injured after three consecutive accidents all in the Pinetown area this morning.
Rescue Care paramedics were called just before 7am for a taxi that had overturned on the N3 Durban bound before Paradise Valley interchange. On arrival paramedics found that two people had sustained moderate injuries whilst six others had sustained minor injuries. Once the injured were stabilized they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
Then around 8am Rescue Care paramedics were called to Richmond Road outside the RTI offices for yet another taxi accident. Paramedics found that nine people had been injured one seriously so. Once Advanced Life Support paramedics had stabilized the injured they were all transported to various Durban Hospitals for further care that they required.
Around the same time 8am Rescue Care paramedics were called again to the M7 West bound onramp to the N3 North bound. Paramedics found that two vehicles had collided on the onramp. Rescue Care paramedics treated and transported one person with moderate injuries to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required.
It is unknown what was the cause of these collisions however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
