A collision occurred on the N1 near the Gordon Road exit in Johannesburg earlier tonight. The collision involved two light motor vehicles and three people were injured. Two patients were moderately injured.
The other patient sustained critical injuries and was entrapped in the car wreckage for nearly an hour. ER24 paramedics assisted in extricating the patient from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life equipment. The patient was extricated and airlifted to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for further treatment. The other two patient were also transported to nearby hospitals for further assessment.
The cause of the incident still remains unknown, however local authorities were on scene for investigation.
