A 25-year-old man is in a serious condition after he fell 8 metres into a trench at a construction site in Waterfall near Hillcrest, KwaZulu Natal.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the patient lying on the bank near a trench. Fellow colleges of the patient were crowded around the scene.
When paramedics assessed the patient, they found that he was in a serious condition, with injuries to his head, neck and back.
Paramedics treated the patient for his injuries and carefully immobilised him before he was transport to Hillcrest Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
It is understood that the patient was pulled from the trench by his fellow workers.
It is unknown how the incident occurred but relevant services were on scene for further investigations.
