Kempton Park near drowning incident leaves boy in a critical condition

A two-year-old boy is in a critical condition following a near drowning incident in Bonaero Park, Kempton Park this morning.

Netcare 911 paramedics received the call for assistance at 11h57 this morning. Upon their arrival at the scene, paramedics found a two-year-old had been removed from the swimming pool and resuscitation had already commenced.

Netcare 911 paramedics assisted with the resuscitation and continued feverishly until the boy reacted positively to the treatment. The boy was placed on a ventilator and prepared to be airlifted to hospital under the care of an advanced life support paramedic.

The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the boy to hospital, in a critical condition, for the urgent medical care that he required.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the incident and preceding events are still unclear at this stage.
