A cyclist was injured following an accident on Swartkoppies Road near Hennie Alberts Street in Brackenhurst, Alberton this morning.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unclear and will remain the subject of an investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found a cyclist lying on the roadway after being knocked over by a motor vehicle. Upon assessment of the forty-three-year-old man, paramedics found that he had sustained serious injuries during the accident.
The injured man was treated at the scene and transported to hospital, under the care of an advanced life support paramedic, for the medical care that he required.
Traffic was affected as a result of the accident. The occupants from the motor vehicle were not injured during the accident.
